We recently bought a newer, better server for our report server which gets data via transactional replication from our production SQL2K database. In setting up the new server, we are having problems with the initial snapshot. We are running it without locking the tables. It keeps timing out with the following messages:
Waiting for response from a backend connection (or process... I cant remember which) and then it also times out after that at times. We are pretty far along in the snapshot each time but when this happens, we restart the snapshot and it seems to start over from scratch. It is also important to note that the actual SNAPSHOT part on the publisher worked fine, but it is the copying of the data then onto the subscriber that is the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
