Urgent problem HELP

Hi,

We're using exchange 2003 enterprise and the Exchange POP3 software to get our message from our ISP.

Problem is that Exchange POP3 can't deliver the mail into exchange server and the port 25 can't be accessed, it worked like a charm, for dome reason it won't work anymore.

Exchange pop3 gives following error:
Failed to connect to server 192.168.0.246 on port 25. A connection attempt failed.

When i open a telnet session to 192.168.0.246
c:\>telnet
telnet> open 192.168.0.246 25
it returns could not open connection to host

What can be wrong, we've rebooted the server and stopped and started the services but nothing helps ...

Open Exchange System Manager
Expand Servers |servername | Protocols | SMTP
Right-click Default SMTP server and make sure it is started.

Hi,

Thankx for the repley, we found the solution. For some reason the dns server suddenly used a wrong ip adres, and therefore the address en port couldn't be reached.
