URGENT: Events 145 and 158...chk file locked??

Hello,

One of my main exchange servers is looking a bit poorly at the moment, but is still working...touch wood!

Server is throwing out event id's as follows...

Event 145 Source ESE97
MSExchangeIS (386) The database engine could not access the file called c:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\edb.chk

Then straight after...

Event 158 Source ESE97
MSExchangeIS (386) Unable to write a shadowed header for file c:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\edb.chk

Also a bit strange the RPC Service is uncontrollable, opening the services window goto and highlight the RPC service, and the start and stop buttons are greyed out!?!?!

I've been look at MS article 253111, but does not provide the answer,

I can confirm that all the exchange directories are excluded from virus scanning. the virus scanning services have been stopped and the server has been rebooted...server is running ok.

Im worrying about a virus maybe, but there were no reports from norton...

Any suggestions?
