UPS Battery Failure

Hi,

On my Compaq Proliant 3000 server, there`s a warning that the battery for the UPS T1500 needs replacement. I thought that the UPS automatically charges the battery....
Is battery replacement a simple thing to do?

it is a lead acid battery (like a car batttery) and like a car battery it wears down over the years I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
