Upgragde or not...

Hi

I have been running my IP office 412 for 3 years now, but I have hit a little stumbling block and run out of digital extensions my only problem is that these are DT handsets (Avaya's upgrade your index and keep your handset plan). I am running 2.1.

What do you guys recon I should do, try and source a DT module and phones, upgrade the phones to DS handsets and go to 4.0 or ditch the system and go with something else, I feel that Avaya have let me down a little bit here, but the system is good otherwise.

Nothing wrong with 3.0DT with 2.1 Apps

Depends on how many phones you have.
You can always find a DT module and DT phones if you want.

But if you can I would upgrade to DS, you can still keep your 412 base unit. One would think that the DS phones is here to stay for a while since ACM also uses DS phones.

If you really want to change system that's your choice to make but it will probably cost more.

You can have a 2.1 system with dt handsets and also ds handsets.

A DS module will work on 2.1, but you cannot use 54 series handsets on 2.1

You can however use use the 24 series handsets that do run on 2.1

So keep your system, add a DS module and use 24 series handsets, best of both worlds and you havre started your migration to DS.
