Upgrading to 7.0

I'm upgrading from 5.0 to 7.0XC - USA and I want to keep programming. I know I need an upgrade tool but which tool do I need and is there anything else that I need.

make sure and go to 6.1 first i went from 4.1 to 7.0 and lost all programming. 6.1 is a step in the migration. good luck

Do you use the Standard Upgrade Tool or the XC? That's the question here I think. Because you are going from Sandard 5.0 to 7.0XC is that correct?

Yeah, I need to know which upgrade tool and I also heard that you need to either upgrade from 5.0 to 5.0XC and then up to 7.0XC or upgrade from 5.0 to 7.0 and then to 7.0XC. I've also been told that you just need the upgrade tool that matches the current software, not the XC upgrade tool. I'm just really confused at this point.

You must go to 6.1 mics or xc first, then you can go to 7.0 without losing programming.
