Hi,

Is there anyone out there that has upgraded there Legato Networker server to Win2k Server from NT 4.0 Server. Would there be any additional software for legato need to be purchased client/server?

If anyone has done this, I would be grateful of any advice.

Regards,

Steve

There is no problem if the host ID not change the server will not be disabled, otherwise yes.
If you change the server that having NT40 into another server having Win2000, you must install the lastest version of Networker Legato into the server and copy res, mm, index folders.
Be careful on the registration: by editing nsr.res you can delete the registration and run in evaluation mode waiting the new authorization code.

So I have understood your question.
I hope to have answered well.

Bye.

Yes, the answer was good thank you, just need to clarify.

I wanted to upgrade the OS on the same server, so the host ID etc will stay the same.

Therefore I am okay to upgrade, without purchasing any additional software?

Regards,

Inq

No, is not necessary to purchase any additional software.
Pay attention on the version of you software Networker: the server support Win2K from 6.x version.

If you have 5.x you mast purchase Update/7, but if you have an update service with Legato you can request the Update without payment.

Bye.

Thank you for your help. The upgrade will be underway this afternoon!
