Upgrading MICS XC from 6.0 to 6.1

When upgrading to 6.1 from 6.0 (both XC software) is there any reason why the system would default?

Normally when going from 6.0 to 6.1 on the software release the system would not default. But I would always have a backup of current settings just in case the 6.0 needed to be restored.

if you downgrade the system defaults in upgrades it doesnt -then again as exsmogger says always good to have a backup.
