Upgrading from standard to enterprise

Does anyone know:

A. If this can be done, simple upgrade over top, or if there are any catches?

B. How is the licesing affected if at all?

It can be done easily. Simply upgrade over the existing installation.

Do be certain to immediately rerun the same service pack as your previous installation was at and any post sp hotfixes.

Each Exchange server requires a license. If you have Standard you have to buy an Enterprise license for the server. The client licensing isn't affected one way or the other.
