I need to check material about oracle upgrade issue and in particular the migration from Oracle 8.1.7.4 and the 9.2.X Oracle version. Anyone can help me to find the manual to study the step execute the upgrade ?????
Thanks all

Wally,

Although it sounds old fashioned, whenever we upgrade a database from 8i to 9i, we take the time to export all the schemas from the 8i installation and import them into the 9i installation. In addition to the "safety" factor, we also accrue the benefit of defragmenting our tables and indexes.

It is the just the normal installation procedure for Oracle 9i. When u run the setup of 9i with 8i already installed, the setup process of 9i gives u an option to upgrade ur existing 8i database. still it will be a good idea to take a dump of your data before doing the upgrade just like santa said.
