I've created a new App server because we were using a 32Bit virtual machine. I've now created a 64Bit virtual server, installed APP server 9, everything appears to be running however I can't restore the backup from the old 32Bit 8.1 server.

- Both were/are running the Linux versions
- I perform an Immediate backup choosing all the check boxes on the old server
- Copy the folder that the Immediate back-up creates to the new server then power it down
- Change the IP address settings in the IPO to the IP address of the new 64Bit APP Server and reboot IPO.
- Choose Restore in the Web Control of the new APP Server and the time and date of the backup is listed (It's the only one)
- Stop and Restart Voicemail Services
- Access VMPro Client from workstation and it's pulling Users from the IPO but no messages, no modules, etc.

What am I missing ???

You can't restore a 8.1 on a 9.0
You can however put everything in by hand with SSH.

Ok then I guess my next question would be which folders do I need to copy. I've started with /opt/vmpro/Accounts and I think I've got the greetings for the mailboxes. I'm looking for the Modules and the associated .wavs for them. Is there a listing somewhere for the structure?

Copy the wavs and the vmdata.mdb in.
Then you have the most covert.

Got all the .wavs but I'm running into a permissions error trying to copy the vmdata.mdb. I have stopped the VMPro on the old server to eliminate the file in use. The log indicates it's copying the file fine from the source but when it tries to upload it to the new server it gives the error. I'm using the Admin credentials, the web/webcontrol didn't work and I verified it's using Port 22.

you might need to change the folder permissions to be able to copy it into it.

in this FAQ there is the process nicely described. Saved me before as by default the wavs directory is also read only.

Maybe that will help you.
