Hello All,

Has anyone ever tried to upgrade a 98se machine to 4.0 Workstation, I'm being asked to do an upgrade and in the past I would just do a fresh install, Just curious if this is possible before I try it, unfortunately I cant upgrade to 2000 the application they are using doesn’t run on it.

Are you sure the app doesn't run on 2k but it does on NT4? (most odd as 2k is based on NT4...).

You certainly can't upgrade 98SE to NT - NT is older, you'll need a clean install.

Never heard of app running on NT4 not on 2k - what is it?

Its a proprietary piece of software that the maker has not been able to run it successfully on a 2000 box.

You'll have to do a clean installed. 98 to NT isnt an "upgrade" per se.

Make sure you install service pack 6.
