Thanks in advance for any insight.

The lines when selected at any phone gives a 'Not in service' and a fast busy signal.

I've switched the line cards to make sure it wasn't a bad card and the problem to not follow the card. It only affects these lines and none of the other 11 lines higher then this.

Rebooting the MICS initially did clear up the problem but only for a few hours then the problem would appear again and I haven't had any luck since in rebooting (same day).

My hardware setup is;

MICS 5.0XC
6 port fibre expansion card in slot 1
fibre station module connected to #3 on fibre card
fibre expansion module connected to #8 on fibre card (with three line cards)

Trunk/Line Data for lines 001-004
TrunkType:Loop
Line type:pool A
Dial mode:Tone
PrimeSet:221
CLID set:None
Auto privacy:Y
Trunk mode:Super
Ans mode:Manual
Link at CO:N
Aux. ringer:N
Full AutoHold:N
LossPkg:MediumCO

Looking into in maintenance, is says;
KSU(2):1 cards
Card 1:0 lines
Card 2:4 lines

Mod 8:3 cards
Card 1:4 lines
Card 2:4 lines
Card 3:4 lines

So obviously something's happening in the MICS that's causing the line card 1 to not be able to grab any lines.

Any suggestions anybody?

Do you only have one 6-port? If so it should be in slot 2.

If that's not the problem, I'd try doing a F**STARTUP after cycling the power and then reprogram to see if that clears the trouble. If that doesn't clear the trouble you'll probably need to upgrade to at least DR6.1 as DR5.0 was sometimes buggy.

It shows he has no lines in Card Slot 1. If he replaced Card slot 1 with a known good card, the problem is the KSU. Or he only has one card in the KSU and it's in the wrong slot.

The second card would be lines 25-31 or 31-34, so card 1 should be 1-4 and he said that a reboot cleared it up for a couple hours.
Check in hardware that in mod 2 card 1 it is loop. If it is disable it in maint then change it to did, enable wait 5 min then disable change it back to loop.

Completely right cook, he said it worked after a reboot, eliminating my idea.

Sorry for the long delay with an update.

I do have only 1 6-port fibre card in the slot beside the line cards.

OK so this what I did. I swapped the first line card with one of the line cards in my fibre trunk module and it's been working so far so good so I'm not going to tamper with it.

The only problem I have, and it's a weird one is that I have one line programmed to two line buttons on a couple of phones. During a feature * 0 then the button confirms it.

If I pick up the first of the two line buttons and release it, the LCD triangle still stays lit up as if in use. But if I pick the second button, I get a dial tone and an fully it release it and pick up the line again while the first line button is lit. The only way I an 'clear' the LCD button light is to go into programming.

I don't want to take my chances again and swap more cards and am willing to live with it. After my post above I spent another a couple of hours reprogramming all of the phones in the office and more to set-up a call pilot and didn't get home until 12:30am and had to be back into work for 7:30 in the morning.

I'd like to to a F**STARTUP but I assume that this complete wipes out system programming and am in no mood in spending another weekend on it.

Thanks again.
