Its just been brought to my attention that my office's voicemail message store Exchange 2000 is does not have ANY service packs installed on it. How much of an effect to the message store and unity will installing exhcange service pack 3 have?

Check on Cisco's website for the recommended Exchange SP's for your version of Unity. Do not use Microsoft's unless Cisco says it's OK. Here's a brief sample from Cisco.com:

Exchange 2000 Service Pack 3 for Cisco Unity 4.0(4), whether you are installing Exchange 2000 on the Cisco Unity server or connecting to Exchange 2000 on another server.

Service Pack 3 is also recommended for Cisco Unity versions 4.0(1) through 4.0(3). Service Pack 2, which is the required service pack for Cisco Unity versions 4.0(1) through 4.0(3), is still supported for those versions but is not recommended.

Pndscm,

Thanks but I know which service pack to use. Nee dto know if anyone has had a bad experiences with SP3 on exchange 2000. I've had cisco ok many MS patches in the past and it totally f'ed out servers.

SP3 for E2K - that's what I'm running, had no issues applying/upgrading to that patch whatsoever. Make sure you run the rollup patch to SP3, though, I'm pretty sure that's a requirement when it's attached to a Unity system.
