Upgrade to Win2k3

Hi
We are now running on Win2k server and planning to upgrade to windows server 2003. Before that I want to know some guidelines abt the upgrade process.
We also have lotus domino server and brightstore arcserve backup softwares running on the server. Will the upgrade process be a straight forward one? Or do I need to do something before i start the upgrade? And how can I upgrade the AD?
Please advice...
