I have a client I need to upgrade from (MICS) DR5.0 to XC7.0. Do I need to use an upgrade tool or can I simply power down, install the new flash card and power back up? I believe I should be using a rel.02 sleeve. If I have to change sleeves from rel 01 to rel 02 can I back up the Dr5.0 and restore to the XC7.0?

Programming is not in the sleeve, but you can't backup a 5.0 and restore to any other version. As Curlycord wrote, you'll need the XC upgrade tool to maintain your database. It might be easier to go to 6.1 and then you can go to 7.0 without an upgrade tool. When going to XC, upgrade the software first, then upgrade the hardware.
