Who has already did an upgrade from 81C with IGS to CS1000M with FIJI?

Which main steps have to be checked?
Any encountered problems?

Our neighbors accross the street (Northwestern Mutual - NM) did it. And I can ask any question you wish. Better than no response I guess

Trivia - Our neighbors across the street. Northwestern Mutual. Once run by Edmund Fitzgerald. The one the ship was named after.

His son, also named Edmund Fitzgerald, was head of Nortel

And HIS son – son of the chairman of Nortel, was trained under me for 2 weeks (in Milwaukee, home of NM) before he went to a 6 month series of courses. I was a lowly tech, and fairly green….but I was ahead of Fitz’s son, and I got the job.

Odd stuff when I think back

Yes you can ask for. Feedback are welcome. NTPs are not so clear and as ever do not cover your exact configuration. I just fear to front a failing case i will not able to understand quick enough before to be in the urge to go back to the previous rls.

I did many upgrades in many different cases, and i can say experience is your best friend...

What Fitz son's thinks about?

When we upgrade a few years ago, Nortel shipped a series of Bad Fiji cards out. We were one of the unlucky ones that got the bad Fiji cards. Caused our switch to INI quite a few times till the new ones arrived. We had to run on one core for about 6 days. Good luck with your upgrade.

I have done it and actually changed the Intergroup to a new IPE. It was very easy. It took us about 4 hours to complete the card cage upgrade of the core modules and the FIJI upgrade. Now we only had two network groups, so take that into consideration.

Changing the Intergroup to an IPE took about 45 minutes, but that was because of the darn ribbon cables. It was an easy backplane installation.

No issues were encountered, and it all went a lot smoother than we expected.
