I can't find it written anywhere.. which method, an upgrade or restructure... forces all users to change their nt passwords? I'm sure one of them causes this but can't remember which nor find any documentation to reference!
Anyone able to help? Thanks

If you are talking about changing your domain from NT to 2000, then an upgrade doesn't cause users to have to change their passwords.

I'm talking specifically Active Directory. We can either do an inplace upgrade or migrate to a new domain. Was sure I read something about password reset for one of them though and with 4000 users we don't want that if we can help it!

The migration using ADMT will cause you to have to reset the passwords.

The new version ADMT2 includes a password engine to keep passwords and SID history so users can use same password in the new domain.
