UPGRADE PROBLEM

We have a Hunt Group with six members, if they don't anser the call it goes to Unity. Before the upgrade the button on there phones would light (AUT-MSG-WT)they would press it and log into Unity. Now when you press the button it tells you Message Retrival Denied, to get the messages they have to call the Voicemail number and then press # and enter the Hunt Group number 8460. There are no directory numbers in the mailbox other than the Hunt Group number. can someone point me in the right direction.

What PBX are you working on and what did you upgrade?
AUT-MSG-WT buttons are not meant for pressing/dialing voice mail, they are just LED indicators to let you know a voice mail is waiting on whatever extension is programmed into the AUT-MSG-WT button. You could setup a system speed dial button to log them into the hunt group voice mailbox (The LED button AUT-MSG-WT would not have worked this way before whatever upgrade was done, so I'm pretty sure nothing actually changed).

I can remember this working on old definity systems with the internal AUDIX 3.x and 4.x
Unfortunately I do not have acces to one of those systems anymore to look it up for you.

Aut-msg-wt is meant for LWC (the old screen-message, messaging system)
Now Audix could be configured to combine LWC with Audix, and have LWC do the alerting.
Don't know if that still works though..

Automatic Message Waiting: associated status lamp automatically
lights when an LWC message has been stored in the System for the
associated extension (can be a VDN). (One per aut-msg-ext; otherwise,
no per station maximum.)

For future compatibility I would also go for the speed-dial or autodial button option.

 
I think he's using a "Non Avaya" voice messaging system so LWC is how it has to work. I demoed a Duvoice system once, and that was the settings on it.

We are going to need the upgrade information to help...

Unfortunatley I don't have the access to that switch anymore, it was retired. the upgrade was a forklift do the age
