Hi, we currently use an IP403 running v3.1 with a PRI module, VCM5 (although not in use) and 2xPOTS30. We don't use any of the ports actually on the IP403.

I have an IP412 which I would like to start using with all of the modules form the IP403 in an identical configuration.

I naively tried to restore a copy of the configuration from the IP403 to the IP412 but all of the extensions got renumbered. Can anyone give me any pointers on the best/simplest way to alter the configuration so that I can just 'switchover' to the IP412 having moved the modules to the relative ports.

Would upgrading to v3.2 on both help?

Later we would like to upgrade to v4.0 for the SIP trunks. I noticed that v4 manager has utils for upgrading from say IP403 to IP500 but there's nothing about using a config from a different IP4xx system.

Thanks in advance,

Joel.

try to export the config
then import it to the 412
i believe this should work

Thanks, I have done this however I think the builtin ports on the IP403 mean that the POTS30 modules aren't in the same place when I plug them in to the IP412.

Thus all of the old extensions are listed but not working and the POTS modules are showing new extensions.

Is there a nice way of editting the config files so I don't have to re-program all of the extensions?

You may try exporting protions of the cfg, not the entire thing.
