Upgrade from Exchange 2000 Native Mode

If you upgrade from Exchange 200 Native Mode to 2003 will your 2000 Exchange servers still work?

There are already a few Exchange 2003 servers in my enterprise. Do I still choose this option? I orginally chose "Install Exchange 2003 on additional servers" then and then option 8 "Install Exchange Server 2003 on the new server by running Exchange Setup" but when I did this the new exchange server did not show up in the first administrative group. Did I do something wrong? or should I have chosen the " deploy the first exchange server" and "Upgrade from Exchange 2000 Native Mode".

u need to join the new server into the same org as exchange old server.
