Does anyone know the exact steps that are best to take when upgrading from SQL 7.0 to 2000? Do I do an install of 2000, then restore a 7.0 bak file to upgrade? How to upgrade, is there a wizard? What gotchas are there with upgrading? Thanks for the info in advance.
Upgrading from SL 7 to SQL 2000 is generally painless and simple. I recommend allowing Setup to upgrade the databases. Some prefer detaching user databses and then attaching after the setup completes. Attaching SQL 7 databases in SQL 2000 causes them to be upgraded.
