I have AVG 7 (network) deployed, however I can't get the clients to update from a local folder, they all have to download the definitions from the web. I can get the definitions to download to the folder.

I haven't spent a lot fo time looking at it, but as this is a new forum I thought I'd ask the first on-topic question!

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Have you tried
From the control centre
Update Manager Properties button
uncheck 'Do not ask for update source' then you can select a local folder, you can then re-set this and it will update from the folder every time.

Life is like a Grapefruit, sort of orangey-yellow and dimpled on the outside, wet and squidgy in the middle, it's got pips inside too. Oh and some people have half a one for breakfast. Ford Prefect.

Hmm I tried turning on the auto web-based download and a couple of other things to see if I could get my check box to dissapper but it's alway there!

So apart from you contacting Grisoft, or maybe downloading another copy, we are running out of options here.

Does it mention the "Do not ask for update source" option in the Help on the dialog? It does in mine.

Use the maual update from the control centre, it will ask for the source. There is a check box on the pop up "Do not ask for the update source next time", try that one. I use 7 Pro and have experience with free and network versions.

The world is full of apathy, but I don't care.
