Greetings Guys,

Bought an 9.1 Essential Upgrade License (339096 ) and installed in IPO V2 7.0. Upgraded to 8.0; no problem. The upgrade to 8.1 went good, except the system came up unlicensed. I downgraded to 8.0 and it works fine again. Does anyone know what caused the upgrade failure? Did I follow the correct procedure or was there an intermediate step like having to upgrade to 5.0.99 from 5.0.26 before going to 6.0 way back when?

Thanks,
Quaz

Did you buy an upgrade or an essential license?
For 9.1 you need both and I guess your 8.0 may be 8.0.44 or earlier so that it allows it

The License 339096, is an Essential Edition License for R9.1, not an upgrade to R9.1
If You have an older kit on R7, and upgrade to R8, you get a free Virtual Essential edition license, that will even work on R8.1, and I believe R9.
The Virtual Essential edition license becomes invalid with R9.1 and up, so You did not waste money buying an Essential edition license. It apears Your IPO is licence to R8. You do need an upgrade license, on top of the Essential edition license, that is why it is showing unlicenced at R8.1+.
