Upgade command from bash

Hello all, does anyone know if there is a way to execute an upgade from bash. I ftp'd a tar file out to an LSP that I do not have web access to. has anyone tried this before?

2.2.1 to 2.2 a downgrade. I have an 8700 and 15 lsp's that I'm doing DST patches for. Everything is at 2.2 except for one LSP thats at 2.2.1. I can either downgrade it to 2.2 or take it to 2.2.2. There is no patch for 2.2.1
