Hi,

I'm a tad lost here... I'm running a network inside a MS domain.. DNS is handled by a server 2k3 machine..

I'd like to have mail.domain.com route to an internal IP in the network (Obviously not the name of the server on that IP).

However, I can't seem to make it to anything but mail.domain.com.MSDOMAIN.local

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
David

You would have to create a domain.com zone and add the host record of mail.

But, why do you need mail.domain.com internally? What is it that you are attempting to accomplish?

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for that information. It worked like a charm.. The webmail is accessed from the mail.domain.com, and I want that to be accessed internally using the same domain name they would externally..

One additional question.. The domain is accessible via but not from What addition to the DNS do I need to cover that?

Thanks
David
