Updating a Table

i have a listbox updating a table...im curious as to when i should be able to see this change in the table itself. I have a textbox that is controlled by the table. I change the listbox and the text boxes changes through the table...or so i thought. When i immeditaly view the table...the change doesnt show up. any advice for the beginner?.
