Hello,

This is a complete long shot but I'm hoping someone out there will be able to help me.

I have created a database for a customer (who we can assume know nothing about how access works etc). I want to be able to send him something like an exe file which will update the database he has, without destroying the data he has in that database (ie, adding or updating a report in that database)

Is this possible and if so, how?

Many Thanks
Paul

it is 'not' possible but if you split your database into a part with table and queries and a part with all the rest (look in the tools menu split database). this way if you change the frontend (forms) the backend (data) stays the same. then you can send him the frontend with updates without changing the data.
if you want to know more search in the FAQ and in the forum "What a wonderfull world" - Louis armstrong
