I am trying to do an update query on a linked sharepoint table. I am getting a message that the value i am trying
to apply is not valid or would breal a data integrity rule...i get this if i run access 2010, when i run it in 2007
i get a message that the database or object is "read-only".

I went into Sharepoint and granted myself highest security....and eliminated the must have fields from data entry.
Not sure what I am missing. This is kind of new ground....

Are you certain that if it wasn't a sharepoint table it would work?

I ask because I have often been frustrated by update statements I can write in Access but not run (scenarios I can run in T-SQL)...
To test, import the sharepoint table and then change your query to update it. If it works, it is not the query. If it doesn't, posting the SQL for the query will help us take a look.

I have barely ever linked to sharepoint but for example with ODBC Access has to be told what the unique identifier is in some cases otherwise it can't update data. This may not be an issue with Sharepoint but thought it worth a mention in case it is. Generally deleting a link and recreating it is the fix for ODBC.

I am curious to know what the issue is if neither of these helps.
