Hello all,
I have a several Word documents that have linked objects in them set to automatically update when the document is opened. On some machines in our office, people are prompted once they open one of these documents if they want to update linked object on the document. Some other machines do NOT get this prompt. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this is happening on some machines but not others. We are all setup the same way to the best of my knowledge. We are all using Word 2000 with Win 2000 as the client operating sys. Anyone else every experience this? The prompt is very annoying, and probably will confuse the more novice users whou don't understand what a linked object is. People who do not get the prompt still receive the linked object's updates (if you change something in the object document, they will see the change), yet they are not prompted.
Any else out there ever experience this, and if so, could you stop the prompt somehow? Really like to know how to stop this.
THANKS!!
