Hello,
I am running BIND 9.2.1-16 on a Redhat server.
All is going well but, when I look into the /var/log/messages file there are many messages looking like the following:
client 142.45.x.x: update '<DOMAIN Name here>/IN' denied
client 142.45.x.x: updating zone '<Domain name again>/IN':
update failed: 'RRset exists (value dependent)' prerequisite not satisfied (NXRRSET)
I have been going to each of these clients (which happen
to be WinXP) going to DNS settings and unchecking the box
which has:
Register this connection's addresses in DNS
This seems to solve the problem of one machine I find in the /var/log/messages at least for a short period of time.
But a day later a new address appears in the messages file.
Do I have to find each machine and "uncheck" the box in the portion of DNS that stops this behavior? Is there a setting somewhere on my DNS box which I can set to exclude machines from wanting to register with DNS??
