Update bitmap in Excel automatically? 1

I have a bitmap file that I want to change in Paint. What I want is to link it to an excel file and have it update when I change it in Paint.
To further explain:
I have a US map in paint that I want to color with the states when certain things happen in that state. As I color them, I want it to automatically update the map in the excel file.

In Office 2003:
Insert > Object > Create from File tab

Check the box "Link to File" and browse to find your file.
