Unresolved Traps

On your DSM server, under tng/caiuser there is a file called catrapd.cfg
This lists all the OID's that the DSM should ignore - ie not send to the console. It will still process the traps and send formatted messages - just not the raw trap.
Add the OID value of your router traps in here and restart catrapd.exe (stop and start opr will do this).
That'll do the trick.

Your problem is name resolution. When Unicenter receives a trap that just contains an IP-address, Unicenter makes a DNS reverse lookup. A work around is to add the server in the host file on your Unicenter server. Some times you must restart your Unicenter server for the change to take effect.
