When the 4602 and 4620 phone first came out we used to be able to press * to access the ADDR function. If we ever had a bad static address or VLAN ID in the phone we could use this to unlock it and make a change. Is there any way to do this anymore? I've got a bad static address in a phone right now and it won't let me do any commands until the phone registers with the S8700 server....

The other thread talks about a phone that has a valid address that you want to change to a static. My problem is the phone has "bad" address - it is a static in subnet that I can't physically get to (or an incorrect VLAN ID and VLAN test =0). When I press the Mute button I always get a "bad" beep. Short of driving 150 miles back to the site, how can I do this?

if the phone gives discovering on the display you CAN reset it by pressing mute-reset. The phone actually gives you the "bad" beep but the reset works!
