Hey all.

Quick question.

ON SQL 2000 when you make a unique ident field there is a option for "Is row GUID".

What does tis actually do on yes/no. What can and cant be inserted when this is yes/No?

Many thanks

Dan

GUID = globally unique identifier, opposed to identity which is locally unique. Defined as uniqueidentifier data type since SQL 7.0 afair.
An example of GUID (from my sample database) would be 14583279-1B8A-4740-8527-B662BFB37ADE.
Most probably, you don't need it. Check SQL Books Online if you need more info.
