Howdy,
At the moment, I'm trying to rework a 3D model in AutoCAD 2005 and have been having some issues with my solids. The simplest way to discribe what I've had to do is I've been creating a cast of solids using the 3D Faced model I was supplied and then using the cast solids to cut other solids into the correct shape. Sound like an annoying way to work? It is
Anyhow, my main problem is that every now and then, I get a solid or a group of solids that suddenly stop working with the Union and Subtract commands. There's no warning and no aparent change to the solid's properties or appearance. I can get them to interact with solids I had previously created or with ones I create after the problem occurs. Here's an exapmle of what I get:
Command: _union
Select objects: 1 found
Select objects: 1 found, 2 total
Select objects:
The Boolean operation on solids failed.
Modeling Operation Error:
Inconsistent containment of intersection curve.
Just to cover the obvious, yes the two solids are in contact/overlapping/sharing 3D space. If anyone at all has any ideas, I'd be most grateful. This project is starting to take more time than I really have.
Thanks in advance,
-Kell
