I uninstalled a Logitech Quick Messenger camera but it still appears on the TWAIN selection list. The information does appear to be in the registry so where might it be? I want to erase this information so I can see only installed devices.

Thanks.

Is there any mention of the device in Device Manager in normal view or if you show hidden devices? If there is maybe uninstalling it from there might help?

You could search the Registry for the camera name and see what that reveals.

Thanks for thinking about this, Linney. I previously uninstalled the thing. The curious thing is that the registry does not contain the string which appears in the list of devices. Neither does any search for a file containing the string show a match. I can only assume that the string is encoded other than in ASCII code. Perhaps someone decided that it should be encoded in EBCDIC for a joke? Selecting the absent device results in no action, i.e. nothing happens, so it's not exactly detrimental to the system.

C'est la vie.
