Now that I'm satisfied that WinXP is working ok, I want to remove Win89se from the dual boot system . . . without formatting C:(Win98se is on C: and XP is on H:. Separate partitions.). I also want to remove the dual boot function. It's not sufficient to delete the Windows folder, I need to remove every vestige of Win98se without corrupting XP,

Thanks for your help on this.

If they are on different drives there should be no problem with just formatting the C drive, i dont know much about XP and its boot managers but i have dual booted a 98/linux system and a ME/linux system and have never had problems with just deleting the other partion for the other OS. Removing it from the dual boot promt should be easy, as simple as just deleting the entry, or it might automaticly do it when it sees the root of the windows directory is gone.

Thats just my opinon, i could be wrong...

Thanks, Matt. I *think* XP puts some identifiers in C: and if I format C: those markers will be gone and XP won't start. I could be wrong too.
