uninstall and reinstall windows 2000

can someone help me with the uninstall and reinstall of windows 2000.I do not have a floppy drive.
also when i start the system it tells "please insert system cd.Press any key when ready" i did that event hen it does not do anything.i keep getting the same error message.can someone tell me what to do.i powered off anf i removed the battery and even then i get the same thing.I had bootable cd in the cd-rom and it caused this problem.
the bootable format is not the cd format and i do not have a floppy drive to boot it upso can someone help me with this.

If you can boot from a CD (check your BIOS to make sure) and you have a good win2k CD and your CDROM is working you should be able to boot from the CD and load 2000.
 
Gateway and Dell have there BIOS set so tat any change to the OS require you to have the systems disk they provided..if it isnt that then go into your Bios are change the boot-settings so you boot from c.d first

It might be something about that press any key. I have to use two keyboards while doing stuff like that here because with no os loaded on my HP it will not reconize the usb keyboard, there are no drivers for it to work off of. So I have to use both usb and a ps2 keyboard. Have you already formated?
