Have here what should probably have a simple answer, but nobody at CA has given it to me yet. I'm new to Unicenter TNG on NT, have been running Event Management on the TANDEM (Compaq Himilaya)and we are expanding Unicenter to the NT platform to try and bring true Enterprise Management to the company. I need to set up a Remote Client NT Workstation from a NT Server DSM so that it has the 2D Worldview Map, Enterprise Management, and in case the User isn't running the Console when something important requiring their attention happens, I need to be able to send a Banner or play a WAV at that workstation, alerting the individual. I know how to create the Message Records and Actions to do this from my experience with the TANDEM but I am having difficulty being capable of having a Remote Event Client AND getting a banner/command out to a specific workstation. At first I was told by CA to remove the Remote Admin Client I was using for TANDEM, install "Base Managers" instead, that this would include the Event Management "Agent" which would allow sending the specific banners, etc. while also having the full Remote Admin Client capabilities. Well, that install tells me that it requires SQL Server installed...is this so? Will it be necessary for 'every' workstation client I would want this capability on? This seems a rather large 'hidden' expense. Any real knowledge 'from the field' regarding this would be very welcome. Thank you.<br>
