Issue
You start a new drawing or use the Layout wizard, and one of these error messages display:
Windows 95 and 98 Error:
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xffffffff Exception at 5f4fe41h
Window NT 4.0 or 2000 Error:
Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0002 Exception at 5f41fe41h
Other commands such as OPTIONS, MENULOAD, PLOT, PAGESETUP, XREF, SPELL, STYLE, LWEIGHT, LAYER, and RENAME, may not work, or may also display the same error.
A prompt to save your drawing is not always displayed when one of these errors occur.
Solution
These errors occur if the ARX files for the BLOCK/BMAKE command or the FIND command are loaded manually through the APPLOAD dialog box.
The ARX files include:
BLOCK/BMAKE - acblock.arx
FIND - textfind.arx
Do not use the APPLOAD command to load any ARX files that are demand loaded by the software program.
If you have manually loaded any of the above ARX files (or other ARX files that are demand loaded) save the drawing, exit the software, and then restart the software.

Issue
The following error message is displayed when you open a drwaing or switch from a layout to model space:
Unhandled Access Violation reading 0X0008 Exception at 334032F4h
Solution
This error is an indication of drawing corruption. Try one of the following methods to resolve the issue:
Use the DDINSERT command to insert the problem drawing into another drawing, and then save to a new drawing
Use the WBLOCK command on the problem drawing and then use the RECOVER command to repair the drawing.
Save the problem drawing as a DXF™ file, and then bring back into AutoCAD and save the drawing as a DWG file.
