Our server just shutdown, with the following msg in the Event log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date: 9/15/2004
Time: 4:23:28 PM
User: N/A
Computer: X
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0xa01a5554, 0x00000001, 0x03ac5000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\MEMORY.DMP.

Any idea what the deal is? I have never seen a bugcheck msg before.

Thanks!

We would need more information to help you specifically with this problem. Something like this: STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xFCA733B9, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0xC0000005 from 0xFCA733B9 (0x0, 0x0)Address FCA733B9 has base at FCA70000 - SRV.SYS

But this is called the Blue Screen of Death. You systems had a major problem and the OS crashed. When this happens, you system will freeze and then reboot (depending on the settings). A memory.DMP has been created on your hard disk...this file will, most likely, be very big. You may send this file to Microsoft in order to help you troubleshoot the problem.

Here is an example Blue Screen TechNet article:
