Has anyone here experience of setting up the Microsoft Lync integration. The Avaya manuals are vague in the extreme. The user guide hints at one-X Portal for IP Office being needed, which is confirmed by Technical Bulletin 150.

Basically at the moment I'm trying just to understand the components involved and their roles. My current understanding is:

- Microsoft Lync is installed, including a Lync client on the user PCs.

- Each user is licensed and configured as a one-X Portal user.

- After installing the IP Office Lync plugin on the user PC, it is configured with the user's one-X Portal settings.

If that is correct, then the only linkage between the IP Office servers (the switch and/or the portal) and the Lync server seems to be on the user PC. Is that correct? ie. should I ignore any hints I've seen of a SIP trunk between the IP Office control unit and the Lync server.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

You are spot on.
The plugin is the connection between lync and Onex.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
