Since the beginning i have noticed that fox will not display an underscore in a variable, 'my_var' appears as 'My Var'. This was never a problem until a typo where i typed '_' rather than a space. I new the code was fine but I kept getting a syntax error. I only noticed this when I copied the code to MS Word to send to a friend. Is this not a bug or is there a reason for this behavior in the editor.

Thanks, Darrin

I have never noticed this behavior: What version of VFP are you using? Which font are you using in the editor? I have a feeling your font is set to a size where the line spacing is too small and the underscore is overprinted by the next line (which sounds like it would be a bug in VFP).

I am using the defaults. Courier New size 9. I changed it to 10 and it solved the problem. Thanks!

Darrin,
This behaviour is strictly based on your Font settings (name, size, bold, italic, etc.) Also with an 'editor' window open, check your Menu -> Format pad, with certain font settings, you'll also have a Single Space, 1 1/2 Space and Double Space setting option.

Odd...mine defaults to Courier New size 10. I tried changing it to 9, and I still see underscores fine.

*shrugs*

Glad you got it working, in any case!
