My clients reported that they received Undeliverable mail notification but the recipents always received the emails that were sent. Is this a bug in Exchange?

Exchange 2000 Server(1)

Are you sure they're getting NDR's, or just warnings that the mail was delayed? What exactly is the return message to the sender?

If it has more than one recipient, or a bad address on the BCC...

Exact error message is below.

"The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

John Doe on 12/22/2003 4:56 PM
The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient
moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the
address. Check the address and try again.
<EX2Kserver.domain.com #5.1.0> "

And is John Doe the person that receives the mail that it says couldn't get through? Also, is the EX2Kserver.domain.com yours or the recipients?

John Doe is the person that received the email. The Ex2Kserver is both the sender and the recipients mail server. This is the email that was sent internally through my Exchange server.

Also, do not overlook the fact thet the RECEIVING server is sending these NDR's, not yours!
