UNC file link in Outlook 2003 task not working.

With Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP we have been able to put unc links to files on our file server. With Outlook 2003 I am getting an error that the file can not be found. Has anyone else see this? Is there some new security setting involved with this?

Anyone clicking on the link must have rights to read the files on that server...

or

Perhaps not everyone's machines are mapped the same way?

I am having this problem too, but only on one PC. When clicking on UNC, it says "Cannot open specified file". When I go into explorer, the user can open the location with no trouble. Here is an example of my UNC.

\\SERVER\FOLDER\APP

I'm thinking it is either a Microsoft security issue or a setting somewhere that says how to execute unc links. I don't have an extension on the link because our Email system will not execute UNC's with EXE's. It works on all other PC's but one.

Any ideas?
