Unable to telnet to host

Hi guys/gals,
Can someone help me or give me some pointers please...
Trying to telnet to a SCO UNIX box as follows but get the following.... why????

mybox:# telnet scobox
Trying nnn.nn.nn.nn...
Connected to scobox
Escape character is '^]'
Connection closed by foreign host

There have not been any changes to the SCO box that I'm aware. I have checked file system space in 'var' & 'usr' no problems there.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check your /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny files for restrictions.

Also check to make sure that your /etc/default/login file allows remote logins.
