Hi all, please help me to solve this painfull problem.
I have a windows 2000 server sp4 and arcserv 2000. I got some problem whit the dlt library tape picker. After changed it whit a new one, the tape engine does not start, i mean, i'm able to mount the tape on the device but after mounting the last tape, the tape engine suddenly stop. Sometimes the mount goes fine but at the first job scheduled it stop again....The errors in the job status log are the following:

E1307 UNABLE TO GET DEVICE GROUP STATUS (EC 1726)
E1306 UNABLE TO CONNECT TO TAPE ENGINE (EC 1722)

Thanks

Piero

Sounds like the Tape Egnine might be crashing... Did you re-configure the library after the new one was connected? Try running TLO Setup again and then try the Tape Engine again.

Perchance is it happening when a specific tape is being read?
Try taking out all but the first few tapes.

Check the log directory for excptxxx.log which are Tape Engine exception logs, and check the Dr Watson log for tapeeng.dll or changer.dll exceptions.

Thanks for your suggestion...I'll try some test and let you know...

Cheers

Piero

I'm having the exact problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
