Unable to send using imap4 but I can receive

Unable to send using imap4 but I can receive. The firewall is not blocking any ports. What could the problem be?

I'm not clear on this. IMAP is a way to receive mail, not send it. Do you mean that you can't send via SMTP?

I use the same host.domain.com in both incomming and outgoing mail. I can receive but cannot send.
