Unable to read message and attachment in OE

When I open up some messages in Sent Items folder in Outlook Express 6.0 I am unable to view the body message or attachment.

The following explains the situation that I am encountering but the workaround provided does not work for me

Try Tools>Options>Security and uncheck "Do Not Allow Attachments, etc.

Thanks but this had already been tried. The issues are unrelated. I have not found out the reason why it happened to this one *.pdf file but has not occurred again since.
